This is an excellent book for understanding the theoretical base of critical thinking. The book politicized critical thinking and led me beyond my perceived notions of critical thinking and theorizing to a realm of understanding the theory in a broader perspective. Before I read the book I never thought there were political notions involved in critical thinking, but critical theory led me into that frame of thinking. I was also searching for a theory and philosophy that supports critical thinking, while critical theory expanded my thinking on the theoretical base of critical thinking, I am still searching for some more information to help deepen my understanding of the concept of critical thinking and critical thinking dispositions.

This is a must read, must own book for people who teach or administer lifelong learning programs. Beautifully written, it takes contemporary thinking to the next step by synthesizsing seminal concepts and creating new ideas. This is a most exciting book!
