I considered The Art of Learning to be a lot of fun to read. In the book, Josh always seems to maintain a healthy and proactive attitude. He comes across as a clean and honest competitor. I enjoyed his descriptions of playing chess in Washington Square Park and how the personalities there shaped him early on. Most of all, I liked the way he handles himself in Taiwan when faced with questionable calls by the judges.

Josh Waitzkin shows by example how to excell at whatever you are interseted in and still retain that inner person without becoming hard or vicious to get to the top. He uncovers the methods of learning, and how to deal with difficult circumstances and people, using examples from his own life, making this also a fun autobiographical journey to his becoming a martial arts world champion. Ofcourse there are references to his excellent chess career too. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I know you will… Go on it will be good for you
